The majority of solar lights operate using one or more AA size Ni-Cad (Nickel Cadmium) rechargeable batteries. We recommend these are replaced every 1-3 years or as found necessary. A defective battery is often the cause of a solar light malfunctioning or inefficient performance. These batteries have a capacity of 700mA and are rated at 1.2 volts. They have a reasonable storage life therefore you may wish to consider buying spare batteries with your solar light. The product description or technical specifications will advise the battery type and quantity for each of our products. These Sanyo Ni-Mh (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable batteries (as an alternative to the regular Ni-Cad type) are designed for the more demanding solar light or when the best performance is required out of a solar light fixture that has a good quality solar panel and accepts AA size batteries. We recommend that solar light batteries are replaced every 1-2 years or as found necessary. A defective battery is often the cause of a solar light malfunctioning or inefficient performance. These batteries have a capacity of 1700mA and are rated at 1.2 volts. They have a reasonable storage life therefore you may wish to consider buying spare batteries with your solar light purchase. REPLACEMENT RECHARGEABLE BATTERY (FOR SF & FL PRODUCTS)

This is a sealed lead acid battery suited for our SF and FL series of floodlights and security lights. The 6 Volt 4 Amp/Hour version is a direct replacement for our SF01 halogen floodlight and our FL03 24 LED floodlight and our SF03 24 LED security floodlight. The 6 Volt 6 Amp/Hour version is a direct replacement for the original FL04 32 LED floodlight. The latest and current version of the FL04 32 LED floodlight uses a 4 Volt 4.5 Amp/Hour battery. The FL05 108 LED floodlight uses a 12 Volt 4.5 Amp/Hour battery. Please select the capacity required depending upon your fixture product code. If in any doubt please email, call or check the battery inside your light to see its specifications. Please note, any 6 volt battery that is marked 4.2 Amp/Hour will be basically the same as a 4 Amp/Hour version. We recommend that the battery in the FL series of floodlights is replaced every 12-18 months and for the SF series, every 24 months, depending upon climate and usage etc. Shelf life, for storing sealed lead acid batteries, is about 12 months, approximately.
