The majority of solar lights operate using one or more AA size Ni-Cad (Nickel Cadmium) rechargeable batteries. We recommend these are replaced every 1-3 years or as found necessary. A defective battery is often the cause of a solar light malfunctioning or inefficient performance. These batteries and are rated at 1.2 volts and the 700mA version is the most popular as it can be used in most solar lights that accept a Ni-Cad AA size battery. The 700mA is a good universal battery and is suitable even if your solar light has been fitted with a slightly lower or slightly higher mA rating. They have a reasonable storage life therefore you may wish to consider buying spare batteries with your solar light. The product description or technical specifications will advise the battery type and quantity for each of our products. Each battery is sold and priced as a single unit.
