This all-in-two, integrated style, solar powered area light fitting has a very unique feature which enables the installer to set the orientation and angle of the solar panel to suit the geographic location of the site completely irrespective of the direction of the luminaire. This is a very important and valuable feature because it allows the solar panel to face directly south (as it should do in the UK) and be set at an approximate 45~60 degree angle (as it should be in the UK).

This unique, stand-alone, self-contained light fitting is fitted with Cree LEDs offering 20W LED power and providing up to 4,200 lumens. It provides a powerful white output (CCT 6,000k) with Type III distribution. It also incorporates a microwave motion sensor which can be used with some modes. It’s designed to attach to the top of a 76mm O.D column or other diameters using an optional tenon adaptor. It can also be configured to attach to the side of a column or vertical structure (e.g. wall, building, fence, etc.) using an optional support arm. Supplied complete with a powerful 120W solar panel and internal, pre-installed, high capacity (27AH) LiFePO4 lithium battery.  This light fitting features three different operational modes. The installer or user can select the desired operational mode using the remote control that is supplied. The default mode is automatic illumination at dusk at 20% output (840lm) with 100% output (4,200lm) upon motion detection. Another mode to choose from is 100% output (4,200lm) at dusk for the first two hours, then 50% output (2,100lm) for a further two hours, then off but with 100% output (4,200lm) upon motion detection. The other mode is 100% output (4,200lm) at dusk for the first two hours, then 40% output (1,680lm) for the next three hours, then 20% output (840lm) for a further two hours, then off. Bespoke operating modes are available to be pre-programmed upon request. Colour of luminaire is silver/grey. Colour of light output is white.

Applications

Our SL31 split style, solar powered area light can be used for all kinds of applications. Ideal for small streets, car parks, footpaths, trails, playgrounds, parks, commercial yards and storage areas, multi use games areas (MUGA), BMX pump tracks, horse riding arenas & equestrian facilities, security lighting for commercial properties and yards and general outdoor area lighting, etc.

Technical Specifications

Supplied with a remote control to select a operation mode.
Operational (default) mode 1: Automatic illumination at dusk at 20% output (840lm) with 100% output (4,200lm) upon motion detection.
Operational mode 2: Automatic 100% output (4,200lm) at dusk for the first two hours, then 50% output (2,100lm) for a further two hours, then off but with 100% output (4,200lm) upon motion detection.
Operational mode 3: Automatic 100% output (4,200lm) at dusk for the first two hours, then 40% output (1,680lm) for the next three hours, then 20% output (840lm) for a further two hours, then off.
The light fitting includes a microwave motion detector, which is usually superior than PIR motion detectors.
Microwave detector senses exterior physical movement of objects such as people, vehicles etc. and should not be positioned where other movement sources could cause false activations (when using U or M operational modes).
Microwave detectors are not typically affected by wind, dust, temperature, humidity etc. like conventional PIR detectors.

Luminaire
Fitted with Type III optics as standard (typically for regular streets, footpath and general area lighting applications etc.).
A microwave motion sensor is built into the fitting (operational when a motion detector mode is selected).
Motion sensor detection range (at ground level) is up to 15M (50') forward, up to 7.5M (25’) each side with up to a 90 degree angle.
The luminaire is fitted with multiple Cree® LEDs which have a colour temperature (CCT) of 6,000k.
High luminous efficiency LEDs up to 210lm/w.
Dimensions are approx. 74cm x 28cm 5~30cm (29" x 11" x 2"~12”) LxWxD.
Ideal for use on a column with a height of 3M to 6M (10’ to 20’).

Battery
All versions incorporate an internal high capacity Lithium (LiFePO4) battery pack which is pre-installed.
Battery lifespan is up to 8 years.
Battery is easily replaced when required.
The 20W version is fitted with a 27AH 12.8v DC.
Higher capacity battery option may be available, if required, by special order.
An integral MPPT charge controller is included and pre-installed.
The MPPT charge controller is up to 30% more efficient than standard PWM controllers.
The system has built-in charge control regulation with over-charge and discharge protection.
Hybrid (solar/grid tied) versions are available by special order.
Optional smart interface available allowing GPRS/3G/4G/5G remote management and networking for operational monitoring, control adjustments, data analysis etc.

Solar Panel
Supplied with an aluminium framed solar panel.
The solar panel is sized appropriately for winter conditions in the UK and may vary depending on the installation site and location.
360 degree rotation and tilt capabilities.
Supplied with a 120 Watt 18V DC solar panel.
Alternative solar panel options are available, by special order.
The solar panel should face as south as possible, set at the correct tilt/angle, and not be exposed to any shade or part shade during the day.

Installation
Suitable for mounting onto the top of a 76mm OD column.
Can be attached to large diameter columns (e.g. 89mm OD) using a tenon/spigot adaptor (not included).
This fitting can be configured to attach to the side of a column or vertical structure using an optional support arm (not included).
Designed for quick and easy installation.
Once a column is installed or if one is already in place, this light fitting can typically be installed and completed in around 30 minutes or less.

Notes

Please Note: This product is a special order and is non-returnable except in the event of a fault (during its warranty period) when the product, once returned will be repaired or replaced.
The solar panel must be installed in a location where it can receive full direct sunshine (when available) and set facing South at about a 45-60 degree angle (where adjustment options allow). The solar panel must not be installed in a shaded or part shaded location and never indoors. The standard specifications of the system (particularly the solar panel Wattage and battery capacity) may need to be adjusted. These components are determined by your geographic location, power consumption (LED Wattage) and the total amount of hours of illumination time required. Such changes to the standard specifications may increase or decrease the cost shown. Please contact us for more information or assistance. The illumination time is estimated and subject to various factors including (but not limited to) geographic location, seasons, temperature, weather conditions & location of product etc. The illumination time of most solar lights can reduce during winter months when the weather is poor and the days are shorter. During this time insolation hours decrease accordingly. Shorter illumination time due to one or more of the above factors does not define the product as being ‘defective’ or ‘not as described’. All solar lights must be used in a completely dark location at night time otherwise they may not illuminate. Nearby strong lighting sources or ambient lighting may affect the operation of a solar light. This does not define the product as being 'defective' or 'not as described'. Please note, if you do not install or use this product for several months the battery may discharge naturally on its own. By allowing a battery to deep discharge it may cause irreversible damage as the battery may then lose the ability to recharge or hold a full charge. Although unlikely, we reserve the right to supply this product with any minor alterations or minor changes to the specifications (shown above by text description or by photographs) due to different supplies or product batches received, incorporating such product changes made by the manufacturer, without further notice. Descriptions, specifications and photographs are updated regularly but may not be current when minor changes to a product have only recently been made.
